Join the Choral Society for a concert of beautiful and serene choral selections, including works by Vaughan Williams, Caldwell/Ivory, Hagenberg, and Parry.
Come hear the Choral Society perform Sir John Rutter’s brilliant and effervescent “Magnificat” for chorus, soprano solo, and orchestra. Also on the program are works for the season by Pärt, Lauridsen, Warlock, and more.
Admission is free. Donations are gladly accepted ($20 suggested).
The Choral Society of Grands Rapids presents Felix Mendelssohn’s Psalm 42, “As the Deer Longs for the Streams of Water” for chorus and orchestra, and featuring soprano Kristen Kersey Burghart.
Also on the program are works by Samuel Barber, Gerald Finzi, Franz Biebl, and Palestrina.

Experience Anton Bruckner’s majestic Te Deum and Gerald Finzi’s In Terra Pax, with chorus, soloists, and orchestra. The program includes works by Herbert Howells, William Mathias, and Kim André Arnesen.
Bach's Cantata BWV 21, "Ich hatte viel Bekümmernis" (I had much affliction), is a sacred cantata written in 1714. This masterpiece showcases Bach's profound understanding of vocal and instrumental textures to convey a sense of consolation and rejoicing amidst tribulations. With its intricate chorales, arias, and recitatives, BWV 21 stands as a testament to Bach's unparalleled ability to fuse deeply expressive music with theological meaning."

The Choral Society will join forces with other choral ensembles from the area in a special choir festival hosted by St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 9408 Wilson Ave, Byron Center, Michigan. Free admission to this very special celebration of choral music!
Hear Gabriel Fauré’s exquisite masterpiece for chorus and chamber orchestra, along with a cappella works by Stanford, Bruckner, Thompson, and more.
A concert for Advent and Christmas featuring G.F Handel’s joyous Utrecht Te Deum, Gerald Finzi’s exquisite Magnificat, and the spectacular setting of the Gloria by the incomparable John Rutter.
Also on the program are works by Morten Lauridsen and Alexander Gretschaninov.
The Choral Society of Grand Rapids performs with full orchestra and the beautiful Casavant organ at Trinity United Methodist Church, under the direction of Randall Burghart.
